Biography
Born in the UK to an English mother and an American father, Jamie was brought up in the US and Japan.
Self-taught from the age of ten, he was playing Hendrix, James Brown, Beatles, Creedence and Sly & the Family Stone covers on US Air Force bases and local TV and radio shows by the age of 13. He followed his family to England when his father retired from the US Air Force.
In 1974 Jamie joined the rock band, Merlin. The band produced one album for CBS and split in 1976. He then worked with Pete Townshend on the original West End production of Tommy in 1979.

By the mid 80s, he was touring with The Hollies and with Eric Burdon before blasting back onto the pop scene in 1987 with his new band, Broken English. After a few hit singles Jamie went on to join Bob Geldof and then The Pretenders briefly in 1990 until the Brian May band beckoned in 1992.
He has been a founder member of the SAS Band since 1993 and has since toured and recorded with Queen + Paul Rogers, Tom Jones, Mike & The Mechanics (guitar and bass), Los Pacaminos and Paul Young, amongst others.
He was also "house guitarist" for all the Nelson Mandela 46664 shows worldwide, and has been a counsellor for the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp.
Jamie is now one of Britain’s busiest freelance guitarist/vocalists.

Jamie is proud to be a patron of the Exchange, Sturminster Newton
and the Blakehay Theatre, Weston-super-Mare.
He's also an endorsee for the following fine companies…
